1. Audiobook of Novelisation of Star Trek Movie. Was awesome. Was read by Zachary Quinto, who did the different voices and everything and. Was awesome.
Special mention would have been made of the Sarek/Amanda scene at the very beginning (highly adorable), and the Kirk/Enterprise scene only fairly near the beginning.

Kirk: *checks out still-under-construction Enterprise*
Kirk: [to himself] What the hell do you think you're doing? You sleep on a starship, not with it.
Chaos: Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.

2. Had cold. Got better. Had 'nother cold. Still in process of getting better.

3. 3 recipes you're probably better off not knowing
Microwave fudge, milo mousse, 5 minute in a cup chocolate cake (I know I got this from someone on my flist, but...).

4. Long long ago, in the early days of Star Trek fandom, there was a tribble. And there was a plot bunny. They met.

5. Books I've read recently (recently being within the last two or three days): Curse of Chalion (Lois McMaster Bujold), Temeraire/His Majesty's Dragon (Naomi Novik), House of Many Ways (Daina Wynne Jones), Bloodhound (Tamora Pierce). Books I will have read recently: Paladin of Souls (Bujold), Throne of Jade (Novik), Black Powder War (Novik), Empire of Ivory (Novik), Victory of Eagles (Novik).
Books! With pages! As in, not inside the computer :D

1. I shall be 25 in less than three days. Eeep.

Re: #5 Books! With pages! I am doing the same thing lately - for the first time in what seems like forever. There must be something in the air.

And, coincidentally enough - I just read His Majesty's Dragon and fell hopelessly in love with Temeraire. What a wonderful character, eh? Finished Throne of Jade this evening and am about to start Black Powder War. I am so hooked on this series. Whee!

And Happy Birthday less than 3 days early! *g*

Oh, I'm sure you'll soon get far ahead of me! I am reading very slowly indeed - a chapter or two per day - in order to spin out the pleasure of this first read. Even though I'm certain to re-read this series, there is nothing to compare to the magic of the first time, and so I am savoring it to the fullest.

Also, I've *got* to work on my Jack Sparrow essay for [livejournal.com profile] idol_reflection (due in 13 days, meep!) and can't procrastinate on it any more, since I've got one on Richard Sharpe due a week after that! So no great binges of reading for me until I make some progress. *g*

Oh yeah, [livejournal.com profile] idol_reflection is a wonderful comm. [livejournal.com profile] penknife is trying to rekindle interest in it and a bunch of new essays are due to post soon. I'm not too worried about the deadline, having had some practice: I did two a couple years ago, one on Norrington and one on King Theoden from LoTR. It's great fun to get one's thoughts in order in that way about favorite characters.

I don't need to know those recipes because today I tracked down Alison Holst's cheese biscuit recipe and ate about half of the result. Yes, I am ashamed, but damn, they were good.

Happy birthday for less than three day's time. :-)
