Torchwood Haiku-fic - TARDIS/Jack/Hub

Haiku-fic – TARDIS/Jack/Hub
Author: [personal profile] order_of_chaos
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Slight spoilers for End of Days

***

Hub flirts with TARDIS
TARDIS flirts back – they decide
To share Captain Jack.

Jack in the TARDIS
Moving, stroking, touching her
Buttons.  She pulses –

Fades out.  In again.
Lift rising, hand bubbling,
The hub surrounds her.

Rattle of weevil,
Cold brush of underground air
Torchwood sounds touch on –

The wood and blue paint
Of her call box disguise.  Not
Deceived, but liking.

Jack slides out of her
Hand trailing over her side
His feet, twin pressures

Firm on the hub floor.
This connection – Jack in hub,
Jack touching TARDIS

Hub around TARDIS,
And TARDIS touching Jack – each
Claiming the others.

For Jack it is sex;
For the TARDIS, possession
For the hub, power.

For all three, it’s love –
They choose to make it so, so
So, for them, it is

***

The hub connects to
One end of the rift.  Why so
Surprised it can think?

She is; was; will be
Inheritor of space and
Time – the last TARDIS

Jack will never die –
His lovers will not let him,
Selfish constructs, both.

ooh, i like this. very nice. i liked how the Doctor doesn't feature - even though the Doctor and the TARDIS are so very linked normally (ie. the Doctor is probably there, inside the Tardis, but in this, that doesn't matter to Jack, that's not what's important).

I'm not sure sex/possession/power equal love, I think there is a bit more mutual respect there than that. But I like how you show the Hub's perception of the Tardis. I also like the line: Torchwood sounds touch on –

Well done!

o.o You wrote Hub/Jack/TARDIS. You wrote Hub/Jack/TARDIS and it WORKED. Wow! *applause*

My pleasure! Any time! ... Actually, it's from my days of doing creative writing at uni and giving feedback - being constructive, etc. Hard habit to break - but maybe a good habit to keep.

I actually think that the rest of the poem *does* imply respect between the three of them, but the 3 lines about sex/possession/power simplifies it a bit. Because even though those three factors may be part of it, it's not *just* that - there's more going on.

Anywho, glad I could help/make you think, etc. ;-) keep it up!

Oh, that is quite brilliant - I love it! I never have the patience for one haiku, never mind stringing so many together to form a story, so I'm bloody impressed by this! :D

You made the Tardis have sex with the hub, in haiku. I am made of so much awe at the moment it's phsically impossible to describe. What's even worse/better is that it was actually sexy. Just wow.

you could write that you know?

My favorite one is this:

The hub connects to
One end of the rift. Why so
Surprised it can think?

Other than that, complete awe and adoration. I like how it's a good relationship. One question, though-- Did Jack dump the Doctor in an alley somewhere and steal the TARDIS? Is the Doctor on a TARDIS-less adventure? What happens when Ianto comes in too early one morning? When the Doctor comes back, does the TARDIS refuse to leave?

Doctor: What? What's the problem? All the buttons and flashy lights say all systems go, but she won't leave!
Jack: Oh, uh, probably um, you know, weird things happen around the rift....
Doctor: .... oh, do they.
Jack: (coughs slightly) Yes. Do you want me to run some diagnostics? The hub has lots of sophisticated scans--
Doctor: What was that? What did my TARDIS just do? Earthquake?
Jack: Shiver of anticipation, probably.
Doctor: (narrows eyes)
Jack: (grins unrepentantly)
