AN: Set (very) loosely in the same universe as Blue Eyes and Dirt, again during DMC.

The first time James tries to use her as a mop, Sophie bites him. She’s cold, tired, muddy, still all a-tangle, and she has a hangover. She’s entitled to a little biting. She’d do worse, but her Commodore looks about as happy as she feels, bitter and wilting ‘round the edges, and she’s fairly sure he wasn’t given a choice.
James mutters an apology – which somehow boils down to “misery loves company” – and smoothes her out as best he can when he’s done.
The second time, Sophie goes hunting for someone else to bite.
It doesn’t happen again.
