Title: Stop the Boat
Author:

Characters: El/Carolina, Jack Sparrow
Summary: OuatiM (or was it Desperado? I forget)/PotC crossover. When Captain Sparrow speaks, people are too busy listening to him to shoot him.
***
“Stop the bus! Stop the bus.” A tumble and a reality shift sideways, and she hit the deck rolling, El falling just to one side, moving instantly into a defensive crouch.
The pirate didn’t bat an eyelid at their sudden appearance.
“I believe the meaning you were trying to convey was stop the boat, not stop the bus, and you would be doubly wrong about that in any case, love, incorrect twice over as it appears to be, because this is, in fact, a ship, not a boat and certainly not a bus, whatever that may be, unless bus is just another word for ship in which case I would be in error to be assuming you were mistaken, but as I suspect you are, actually, as a matter of fact, completely and utterly wrong, I have no intention of stopping the Black Pearl, who is most certainly a ship and the best, most beautiful, most brilliant ship ever to sail the Caribbean, or indeed ever to sail anywhere, and I would be much obliged if you would explain precisely how you came to be aboard her, although,” he held up a hand, “I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it were to turn out that you have no more knowledge of the means than I do, which would, indeed, be a pity, but one can’t have everything, even in the most favorable of circumstances, which this, I will take the liberty of presuming, is lamentably but indisputably not.”
As he spoke, the Sparrow studied his accidental visitors, watching them wind down from lethal levels of paranoia to simple dazed bemusement. They assumed, as did most people, that he wouldn't shoot them while he was talking. This time, at least, they were right.
He fell silent and beamed at them, waiting for a reaction.
