And there was Norrington (whose name I didn't find out until hunting through the fandom) saying "I intend to see to it that any man who wears a pirate brand or sails under a pirate flag gets what he deserves - a short drop and a sudden stop." And I thought to myself, there will be a pirate in this, and this man will be in love with him. WORD.
It was different with me, since I knew the fandom before I knew the movie, but if I had watched the movie without any previous knowledge, I surely would have had your thoughts about it. o_O
