When did Jack invent retcon? Did Jack invent retcon? I can't remember. But anyway, guessing... (The 'they' in this case are Torchwoodian minions of Jack's throughout the ages.)
Jack, of course, has been doing this for decades - ever since he invented the stuff - and it's hilarious. He's never actually died laughing (and what a way to go that would be) but there's been times when he's come close. Because even if they don't want to remember, chances are he does. Memories are important, and the memory of, for example, Suzie Costello quietly and calmly explaining the uses of certain other flavours of barbecue sauce and how she found out about them and "please, Jack, I am this far from spending the next month drunk out of my mind, and then what use would I be?" is one he'll cherish forever.
I am to bed, as it's half-past midnight here, so I'll leave you with that for now. Bye!
