Summary: Sakura protects Irura-sensei from Kakashi. Fluff.
91. Protection
He'd said something - he didn't remember what, but Iruka-sensei had blushed bright red on hearing it, and Sakura-chan had turned on him with unexpected vehemence. "Do you love him?" she had demanded. Kakashi had shrugged and said nothing, but a quiet voice inside him wondered if he still remembered how to.
"Then don't." Sakura had taken his silence as a negative. "Just don't."
Iruka had smiled. Smiled, and Kakashi suddenly knew how very seldom the academy sensei had had someone protect him like that. Smiled, and… it was open and honest and brilliant. Kakashi thought that perhaps, if he still remembered how, he could fall in love with that smile.
Sakura had giggled and smiled back, and life when on as if nothing had happened.
Message recieved. Kakashi understood. This one's heart was not for playing with.
He didn't intend to play.
