“You’re really quite lovely like this, you know.” Rugen’s voice was infinitely, deceptively gentle.
The barest thread of a whimper answered him – his prey was long beyond screaming, now, though not beyond pain. Already-tender flesh blistered and blackened in the candle-flame, dark bruises systematically being replaced by peeling charcoal. Broken lips parted in silent agony as the slow torture continued.
“Time for a break, do you think?”
Brown eyes stared at him, relief warring with pure terror.
“No? Maybe later, then.” He tipped the candle, splashing burning hot wax with pinpoint accuracy over one nipple, eliciting another strangled whimper from his captive. A black glove scratched the hardening wax away – careful not to cause any permanent damage this soon in the experiment. “I do look forward to killing you,” he commented. “There is so much more variety, when one doesn’t have to worry about keeping the subject alive.” He stroked an unblemished curve of cheek softly. “It’s nothing personal, you understand. Simply business.”

I still want a Sands/Rugen one, but I may eventually give in and write that one myself. Or at least attempt it. I'm afraid my muses aren't quite foul-mouthed enough to do Sands justice. =P
