Doctor Who Drabble - Sacrifice

Characters/Pairings: Doctor's POV, implied (in my mind at least) Doctor/Rose/Jack.

Sacrifice

It’s been months.  Rose is still gone forever.  Jack’s still alive, because Rose loved him so much that she shredded the universe to keep him that way.  And the Doctor still hasn’t decided whether the worst of it is the irreparable damage to space and time, or knowledge that, given the choice, he’d have done the same thing, for the same reason.  Only, he’d have known what he was sacrificing when he did it.  He doesn’t think he can face his Captain, knowing that.  He’s afraid he will hate him.  He’s afraid he won’t.
The rift is one of many.
